For the new applicants of B.A. Part I the optional subjects are clubbed together in 3 groups - A, B & C. The subject combinations of 3 optional subjects and their respective code numbers are as follows:

- Geography and History cannot be opted together
- English literature and Sanskrit cannot be opted together
- The applicant is required to fill 3 code numbers of subject combinations (Priority wise) in admission form. But each code number should belong to a different group.
- The allocation of subjects will be done on availability of seats. If subjects offered in first priority are not allocated then the second priority will be considered.
